Instructions for NON-FrontPage Users - FrontPage users click here

To stream RealAudio content using http streaming:

1) Create your RealAudio files (with .ra or .rm extensions) and upload to your web space.

2) Using a text editor you will need to create a metafile containing the path to the RealAudio file.  In a text editor (Word is not a plain text editor.  Notepad is.) open a new blank file and type in a single line containing the path to your .ra file.  For example if you uploaded your .ra files into a folder called 'audio' inside of your httpdocs folder your path would be:  http://www.yourdomainnamehere.com/audio/youraudiofilename.ra

3)Save this text file as youraudiofilename.ram and upload to your web space.

4)In your web page create a hyperlink for users to click on to launch the RealAudio file.   In the hyperlink, reference the .ram file created above.  For example:
'<A HREF="youraudiofilename.ram">'

5)Save and upload the webpage and you're done.

3)Save this text file as youraudiofilename.ram in the same folder on your harddrive where you saved your .ra or .rm file.

4)Open Front Page on your computer and open the web that contains your website files.

4)Open Windows Explorer and move through the folders until you get to the area on your harddrive where you saved the .ra and .ram files.  Single click on the .ra file and hold down the mouse button.  Drag the .ra file down until your cursor is over the Front Page button on your bottom toolbar.  Hold your cursor there for a few seconds and Windows will bring the Front Page window to the top.  Keep holding the mouse button and move your cursor to your File List on the left side of the Front Page panel (where all of your website files are listed.  DO NOT hover over a folder when you release your mouse button or the file will be placed inside of that folder.  Release the mouse button and the .ra file will appear at the bottom of your file list.  Repeat this step for your .ram file.

4)In your web page create a hyperlink for users to click on to launch the RealAudio file.   In the hyperlink, reference the .ram file created above.  For example:
'<A HREF="youraudiofilename.ram">'
